TAGLAVORE TO CALL BATTLEWINGS ACTION
BOSSIER CITY, LA (March 24, 2010) - Shreveport native and veteran broadcaster Tony Taglavore, who has more than 20 years of radio and television sportscasting experience, will be the radio play-by-play voice for Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings’ home games, team owner Dan Newman announced today.
The BattleWings compete in the 15-team Arena Football League. All 16 of the BattleWings’ regular-season games will be carried on KLKL-FM (95.7). BattleWings’ owner Dan Newman, also a veteran broadcaster, will call the action on the road.
“I am honored and excited to have this opportunity,” Taglavore said. “The BattleWings have proven to be successful on the field, and a first-class organization off the field. This is a tremendous opportunity to call action in the country’s premier arena league.”
In addition to his work with the BattleWings, Taglavore is a play-by-play/color analyst for the Northwestern State University Demon Sports Network. Taglavore also hosts an LSU football show, provides the play-by-play for Captain Shreve High School, and hosts Wonderful Day Ark-La-Tex, a magazine-style television show.
Taglavore is a fixture in the Shreveport-Bossier market. For 18 years, he was a anchor/reporter for CBS affiliate KSLA-TV.
The BattleWings begin the 2010 season Saturday, April 3rd, against the Alabama Vipers at the CenturyTel Center.
