BOSSIER CITY, LA (June 9, 2010) – This Saturday night, as the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings take on the Iowa Barnstormers at the CenturyTel Center in Bossier City, there will be an opportunity for fans to save a life…and be included in the next Guinness Book of World Records.

Before and during the game, Lifeshare Blood Centers will hold a blood drive in the concourse of the arena. Qualified fans will be encouraged to donate at any time during the game (or before) to increase the local blood supply in preparation for the upcoming hurricane season. After the game, as part of the traditional post-game autograph session, fans will be invited onto the field to create the “World’s Largest Human Drop of Blood.” A photograph will be taken from the catwalk in the CenturyTel Center and then submitted to Guinness for consideration to be included in their annual Book of World Records. Lifeshare Blood Center will give away 800 specially designed t-shirts to those participating in the attempt. Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings’ Director of Operations, Jason Coffel said, “The BattleWings really enjoy being a part of the Bossier-Shreveport Community and we consider it an honor to be involved in an event like this and associated with an organization such as Lifeshare Blood Center. Our fans can truly make a difference in the lives of their neighbors in the community and this is just one way to do so.”
